Program outline for Entrepreneurship Seminar
Theme: Road to Entrepreneurship

Alliance ( KITA) and World Malayalee Council-NJ Chapter ( non-profit South Asian community organizations)
- Event Co-Chairmen: Suresh Kumar (KITA) and Abraham Phillip (WMC)
- Date and Time: Saturday, June 7th 2008, 3.00 PM-6.00 PM ( to be followed by networking and dinner)
- Location: Hoysala Restaurant,

- Objective: Exploring entrepreneurship from a practical perspective; Education for potential and new entrepreneurs on real world issues on starting and growing a new business; Issues of Minority Entrepreneurship; Information and experience sharing with successful practicing entrepreneurs; Fostering a mentoring network.
- Structure: Panel discussion and keynote speakers; 3 hour event followed by a networking hour and dinner
- Admission: $10 for Students (ages 15-23 only with ID); $25 for all others. The fee includes cost of dinner and refreshments.

3.00-3.45 PM – Registration
3.40-4.00 PM – Introductions; Acknowledgements and Inauguration
4.00-4.15 PM- Opening Keynote- THE DNA of ENTREPRENEURS: What makes a successful Entrepreneur? The social and economic impact of Entrepreneurship, Immigrant Entrepreneurs, How do successful entrepreneurs overcome the daily challenges and pitfalls they face, Entrepreneurial vision.
4.15-5.00 PM- Panel Discussion 1- Getting Started: Focus on the How and When of Entrepreneurship: How to get started; deciding on a practical idea, concept, product or service; market research, where to get information needed, testing the model, developing a business model, legal considerations, financial issues, creating credibility, taking the plunge.
5.00-5.45 PM- Panel Discussion 2- Growth and Development Strategies for New Entrepreneurs: Break-thru strategies: How to break out from earning a living to creating a flourishing organization; Leadership Issues: hiring, retention, motivation, team building; coaching. Mentoring for new entrepreneurs. How to find information and support networks for entrepreneurs.
5.45- 6.00- Closing Keynote: Topic: Entrepreneurship: Emerging Opportunities for the new Entrepreneurs in the Global economy.
6.00- 7PM- Networking Break
7Pm- 9PM- Dinner
